Page 20. I kinda wanted to make the blood dripping down the hammer red, color splash style, but the page already has fearspren in it done color-splash style (and if i left them gray they’d look weird) also, “everything’s greyscale except for blood” is an overdone aesthetic.

Speaking of fearspren - they’re very small, floating goop. But i wanted to make them bigger to emphasize them. Think of drops of mercury, mixing up and forming into bigger blobs. Since this and the next page are pretty much Gaz having a massive panic attack, i feel like very big fearspren works.

Ah... I don't know if that's interesting to you, but i associate these pages with the song "Rain in Soho" by The Mountain Goats. Give it a listen, it's divy.

Honestly, you're a brilliant visual storyteller, Bridge. Thanks for sharing all of this! Love your character designs, love the emotion you put behind them, the compositions, the ALL OF IT!

Thank you so much! This means a lot ♥ i put a lot of myself in this comic, even though it's kind of a weird subject. Love your art too btw! So good.

Gaz redemption! Without seeing a single thing I love it already!! I was so looking forward to Gaz getting his eye back in OB, becoming a squire to Shallan.. and was heartbroken when it didn't happen (yet)

I was really hoping for that too! It does feel like his character arc is going SOMEWHERE but it's probably going to be very underwhelming ahah. And that's why i'm drawing this comic :D

I like your take on the fear spren. And I'm sure Sanderson would appreciate the lack of stylized blood. If I remember right from his podcast, he said he's a bit squeamish with blood and gore, which is why he didn't finish A Game of Thrones.

That's interesting! I don't blame him tbh. That's nice to know, because i'd like to show this comic to him when i'm done.
