Do aviar benefit from their own talents?

Question

Posted

Is it only an aviar’s bonded companion that gets their power, like the spren of Roshar, or do the aviar benefit from their own talents as well? If someone could modify themselves somehow to be able to eat the same worms that provide the aviar with their talents, would the person also get those benefits, or would they need to bond with someone else to make it work?

Sak seems to be able to tell the future... herself iirc, too. So, I would say yes, they don't just bestow abilities on humans, they have those abilities themselves as well.

Plus, Kokerlii's breed seems to have a Coppercloud like effect in their general vicinity instead of bestowing a Talent onto their human, so that counts too.

This actually also checks out with the Radiant spren. They have Surge like abilities. The Honorspren city plays around with gravity and Syl was able to manipulate local pressure to shield Kaladin when he was strung out in a Highstorm.
