Do Feruchemists draw from the entire metalmind at once ?

Question

And are attributes stored evenly across the metalmind ?

Specifically if an elsecaller feruchemist built a large metal wall, put their hand on it and stored their weight, then teleported/oathgated really far from the original position, could they draw from the other end of the metal wall, or would the weight take time to spread through the entire wall ?

Per this, metalminds can be broken and still accessed, which implies that the Investiture gets spread evenly over the whole object, which jives with the realmic idea of an object having a whole identity (ie shadesmar beads, etc).  It could get wonky with Copperminds where you are storing and retrieving a discrete thing, but I dont know if that applies to other metals.

What happens when you break a Hemalurgic spike or metalmind? What happens to that power?

Brandon Sanderson

Hemalurgic power can be split among multiple spikes and reforged, but remember that the longer a spike is outside of a person, the more the power is going to decay. Things like splitting it will decay it even further. Metalminds can also be broken and still be accessed

If a metalmind is melted down and changes shape, does it still retain its power?

Brandon Sanderson (paraphrased)

Yes, only by mixing it with other metals would the power be completely lost. Also if any pieces of the metalmind are lost, then some of the power will be lost (as it would be in the missing pieces).

When you store multiple memories in a coppermind is it still technically one large coppermind or could you say it's more like a ton of "virtual" metalminds, because you're technically tapping individual ones?

Brandon Sanderson

More like the second. I would say that's accurate. I mean I'm not sure that really aligns one to one but it is another good model, though.
