In the Hero of Ages and in a few other Mistborn books, we see that hemalurgic creations, namely Marsh, were able to maintain a sliver of their own autonomy, even while being controlled by Ruin or another Shard/allomancer. Electrum is capable of storing determination, and compounding it would magnify that determination. So, if you were burning an electrum metalmind and Harmony tried to take over your mind, would you be able to resist him through virtue of nothing but pure willpower?

This sounds plausible, but likely would only work temporarily. Compounding is truly amazing, but a shard of Adonalsium is just SO POWERFUL, it probably couldn't be resisted indefinitely.

I also have reason to believe that compounding Identity would also make you more difficult to control, as the reason slave form parshmen could be controlled by the humans was because they lacked any Identity or Connection.

It probably wouldn't help against hearing them or even getting puppeteered by them, but it might help keep a piece of your mind your own, like with Marsh and Eshonai
