Sci-Fi Author / Series similar to Brandon?

I've read most everything by Sanderson and I really enjoy his style. 

At the moment I feel a bit fed up with fantasy and would like to give sci fi a shot. So is there something similar in style out there that you guys know of and would recommend?

You could try the Bobiverse. The first book is call We are Legion.(We are Bob). It's pretty sci-fi
