The Dead Man's Dance

So, where to begin? The Dead Man's Dance is a lavish party thrown by the dreaded and beloved Necromancer. The party is mostly just an event with lots of food and dancing, but there's a twist. The Necromancer raises the dead during the Dance, leaving their personalities intact. People come for all reasons, but some come seeking closure while other families have long traditions of coming to the Dance to pass on knowledge. 

There are are forms of necromancy and other necromancers, but the Necromancer kills them. Feel free to invent any other details, the only real worldbuilding is what I've said here, so go wild.
