Bernard Cornwell

In the past year and a half I've read a lot of Cornwell's books, and have just finished his newest book Warlord, which is the last of the Saxon Tales novels. Like most of Cornwell's works, this book was terrific. I think Cornwell managed to portray Uhtred as old in a convincing way without making him seem too frail or weak.

So have any of you read Cornwell? What do you think of him?

I read the first couple of Sharpe books. I wasn't compelled to read more because Sharpe came across as kind of a jerk.
