spitfireky she/her Posted November 19, 2020 Posted November 19, 2020 I found an interesting WoB about the Ghostbloods and the Sleepless: https://wob.coppermind.net/events/387/#e12657 Especially since it's revealed in chapter 64 that Spoiler there's a Sleepless working with the Ghostbloods that took the form of Wit's pen to spy on him, I wonder if it's (Dawnshard spoilers) Spoiler one of the four Sleepless that are apart from the rest of the hive mind. The only one of those four that the rest of the twenty aren't antagonistic against is Arclo, so maybe it's him. These parts of the WoB, specifically, interested me: Stormlightning Would the Ghostbloods try to recruit [a Sleepless]? Brandon Sanderson Um, the Ghostbloods would not trust a Sleepless. Stormlightning They wouldn't? So they wouldn't even try to get one? Brandon Sanderson They would not. They would expect a Sleepless to take over their organization or try to. And try to stay far away from the Sleepless. So what would've changed their minds?

It seems the only explanation. Mraize was somehow overhearing Pattern's conversations with Wit, and that was the implied reason. The Sleepless was reporting to Mraize. As for the WoB, I think that Thaidakar would still be very wary of the Sleepless, but that doesn't mean he wouldn't still take advantage of their...skills. Perhaps he knows that the Sleepless on Roshar pretty much stay on Roshar. It's hard to take over a cosmere-wide group when you don't have an interest in leaving your planet, so maybe he's more open to them than to Sleepless in other parts of the cosmere.

Maybe the sleepless is succesfully infiltrating the Ghostbloods and they don't realize. 2 - Individual choices. Maybe Mraize is working with a sleepless even if The Ghostbloods as an organization would rather not.
