Mikeztarp
Hi. I thought I'd share my transcriptions as I go through the book. If this is the wrong place or it's already been done (I can't find any topic like this, but there are probably search words I haven't thought of), please tell me. There will probably be some spoilers. I've written all of the transcriptions in the order they appear in the art, from top to bottom and left to right. There are a few instances where either I or the artist made mistakes, so I used the closest word that made sense. I. Urithiru Tower 2 Tower 1 II. The Fourth Bridge 1 The Fourth Bridge is not as pretty as my fanciful designs but it is thrilling to see the ship coming together. The final build follows these designs with some changes my engineers suggested. 2 Cutting showing levels below main deck for carrying people and supplies 3 Kaladin old bridge embedded in the deck 4 Possible desgin for next iteration of sky carriage 5 Main entrance works like a drawbridge 6 I hope the fans will lessen some of the horizontal load 7 Maybe add soulcast crystal over the top 8 Stairs might fold up into a table to save space and weight 9 Latest tests show the need for fins instead of two wings III. The Arnist Method 1 The Arnist method begins with luring the spren to the gem 2 For example to attract a flamespren create a fire nearby 3 Allow the spren to inspect the gem 4 Arnist hoop 5 Quickly drawing out the Stormlight pulls the spren into the gem 6 The spren becomes trapped inside 7 A pewter cage surrounding the gem can be adjusted by twisting rods hooked to eyebolts 8 The tighter the cage the more heat the fabrial generates IV. The Crystal Pillar Room 1 Close up of the Crystal Pillar 2 Suppressor device retrieved by Kaladin 3 The pattern of garnets is similar to one I have seen on the Pillar 4 Stairwell chamber 5 Library room 6 Murals 7 The Crystal Pillar room 8 Library room V. Dagger 1 Raboniel's soul- harvesting dagger 2 The white gold metal vein down the middle conducts Investiture. Raboniel calls the metal Raysium and says there is not enough in this dagger to collect her or that of a Herald. I am not sure I believe her. 3 Navani is right not to believe. I have given her few reasons to trust me after all. But in this thing I do not lie. Why give into my enemy's hands the means to destroy [Maho]? 4 I will proceed with my experiments. Our discovery of Warlight paired with my eventual understanding of this dagger might yield a way to stop this war. 5 Though I think we disagree on what an acceptable end to the war actually looks like. 6 The ruby is housed in a metal other than Raysium. Silver, maybe [ha]? 7 I can confirm the metal is not Raysium but a silver- nickel alloy and does not affect the dagger's function. 8 (bottom right) Touching the dagger to half of the ruby does not pull out the half spren. Cracking one half however allows the spren to escape. The dagger immediately pulls the spren along the Raysium vein and into the gem at its base. 9 (bottom left) I suspect the vein of Raysium continues through the dagger's hilt and somehow attaches to the ruby at its base. 10 The Raysium vein is removable, reversible and conducts Investiture directly to the gemstone. (Note: Raboniel's handwriting is terrible, and there are a couple of words that make no sense to me) VI. Experiments 1 The Thaylen vacuum tube 2 A cracked diamond affixed to the end might give the exact result I am seeking. 3 The metal caps unscrew for versatility in experimentation 4 A fabrial pump removes the remaining air. 5 The rhythms cause patterns in the sand; different patterns for the different kinds of Light. There must be an answer of some kind here though I wish I could consult a true scholar concerning this. 6 Now that we have seen where this line of exploration has led I am amazed that you were able to extrapolate this voice of Light. 7 The tones are becoming easier for me to hear. I recognize the tones of the different kinds of Light and struggle to hear if there is something more. 8 Your research has yielded great fruits. There Was a time I thought it impossible for one of your kind to hear the rhythms. How could I have anticipated the magnitude of what you have kept hidden from [meha]? I fear I have underestimated you and your kind. (Note: IRL these patterns are called Chladni Figures. This cool video explains it well.) Kairos
Thanks, I was hoping someone would do this, since I’m too lazy to go through and learn the Alethi Women’s script
