Iceland Vs. Greenland Petition

This is a petition to switch the names of Iceland and Greenland because they make no sense. Greenland is very icy and Iceland is very green. Sign the petition if you agree that some name changing is in order.

My dad actually knows why there names are like that. It was marketing by erik the red. (He was a viking and wanted people to come to his colony.)

He called it that so people would get to iceland and say: "Oh wow this is green, but it's called iceland. Imagine how green greenland will be!"

But if we do that the Vikings won’t be able to trick people into going to the wrong island!

Well pretty much. Greenland was still marketing.

They should not switch names because control freaks hyperfixated on making everything "sensical" and standardize discourse accordingly must learn to accept that they are not, were not, nor ever will be, the measure of the world. (IoW, they need to be knocked down a few pegs! )
