"If that's the case, then I guess all we can do is wait for the guard to come back."

"I guess so." After a pause, Vivace tilted her head and sat down against the door. "So, what is the weather like out there?"

"I don't know, I didn't think that I would need it. Give me two seconds."

Jane got up and walked to the building's door before returning.

"It seems to be slightly cloudy out."

"So you say every morning."

"And yet, I'll probably say it tomorrow. At least I had a real good time last night, not that you would know what that's like."

Pior gave Aerith a cheeky smile, evidently feeling better.

"The one time I got drunk, I only remember feeling like I was going to throw up dinner, lunch, both breakfasts, and possibly my stomach."

"Now I'm sad that I missed seeing you having such a great time. How many times did you get married while you had the liquor in ya?"

"I've never gotten married, sober or no sober."

"That you remember, you could have your special someone wondering around already."

Pior gave Aerith a wink.

"I don't know about that, but I guess I gotta take your word for it."

"Sounds nice. And the sky?"

"Blue."

Vivace gazed up at a corner of her cell, imagining it. Then a vital detail occurred to her. She turned her head. "What does it smell like? Does it smell like rain?"

"Rain is coming, within a few hours. I wouldn't worry too much about it, you're not supposed to be leaving anywhere."

"Yeah, I know. I used to love the smell of rain, you know. Now there's not much I can do either way, so..." Chorale trailed off, her expression growing wistful. Oh, good strategy. Maybe she'll tell you something useful. Shh! No need to point it out, I know what I'm doing!

"I've never liked the rain, can't imagine why anyone would. But I guess that it's not my choice where we set up the base of operations."

"Wait - but I thought you were important! Like, in the command structure?"

"Who me? I'm flattered, honestly, I am. I know what's going on with the important hot-shots, but I'm not one of them."

Here, I will explain . . . No, that will take too long. Allow me to summarize. (This will be under the assumption that you have read the first post that explains the setting)

Chorale (a character by Condensation) got captured by the Amal, which then took her to their leader at the time, Concerto, Chorale's brother. One short and bloodless coup later Chorale becomes an Amal and bother her and her brother are imprisoned as an Amal named Kade takes command. Concerto escapes, leaving Chorale behind.

One of Chorale's companions (Aerith, Fadran's character) is organizing an attempt to rescue Chorale. At the same time the town that Aerith was in had a small and bloody revolution that was most likely organized by a character named Kuno (TheWard'sGuard's character).

Aerith and his company of rescuers are making their way towards Chorale now. Concerto is somewhere. Kuno and Kade are both planning (not planning together, as they are both in different areas, and possibly foes).

I think that's all of the important things, if anyone wants to add anything that I missed or got wrong, feel free to. If you have the time, do read through the intimidating 58 pages of content if you want to be completely familiar with the subject matter.

I mean, I've sat down and read 155 pages of the block of text that is The Fellowship of the Thing followed by 68 pages of Siren's Call. 58 pages is nothing. I'll get to it eventually.

Impressive. I'll let you be the judge of when to read it.

Welcome aboard this freight train heading to disaster town, watch for complimentary pretzels.

Spoiler

I am joking btw.

This is Condensation's train btw, so you should talk with her if you want to know more.
