mycoltbug Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 Ok, so Hoid specifically mentions on page 807 "And take good care of that blasted apprentice of mine. He really should have let me know he was still alive. Perhaps he feared I'd come to rescue him again" My theory is that this is the apprentice that Hoid is training in Liar. Who else could learn to travel and have similiar talents as Hoid. He believed he was dead and that he had sent him to his death. This totally rings of Liar's apprentice to me which leads me to believe that Teft will play a bigger part than we expect. Maybe he was following Hoid, to help him...
DataPath Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 Sigzil was the apprentice. Sigzil the Worldsinger. No, Hoid in TWoK is, I believe, Midius, the apprentice Jesk from LoP. "You, however, you may call me Hoid.""Your name?" "No. The name of someone I should have loved. Once again, this is a thing I stole. It is something we thieves do."
Chaos he/him Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 Hum. I read it that Sigzil was the Worldsinger, which was Hoid's apprentice. Though, that's an interesting proposition, where Liar is not the beginning of the cosmere saga, as has been suggested, but rather the end of the Hoid we know. I don't necessarily believe that, since I think it's more likely that Midius stole the name of Hoid, but it does turn the gears in my brain.
taveren he/him Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 would be strange if it was like wheel of time and each new age had a new hoid that was the apprentice of the last one
natc Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 And this broke the previous record you broke just earlier. 5 years, 3 months, 9 days. Now you're destroying people's graves. It's definitely the same Hoid aa far as we can tell. 2
