Hilfandor he/him Posted September 12, 2020 Posted September 12, 2020 Finished my reread of tWoK today, and I had forgotten that Taln is described as having dark brown eyes when he arrives at Alethkar. Sometime between his travel between Alethkar and his arrival at the Shattered Plains, someone switches his honorblade with a different shardblade. After the switch, his eyes are....dark brown. When a dark eyes bonds a shardblade, their eyes slowly lighten, as we see with Moash. If Taln's sword was switched with a regular shardblade, why didn't his eyes change?

I think this very much has to do with the Heralds' nature as Cognitive Shadows, and the direct Connection they had to Honor through the Oathpact.
