Hilfandor he/him Posted September 9, 2020 Posted September 9, 2020 Rereading tWoK before the new book releases, and a little moment caught my attention. As Dalinar discusses his visions of the Recreance and weather or not he should abdicate, it is Renarin who suggests trying to ascertain the accuracy of the visions. As an eventual Truthwatcher, I like the little nodsl to Renarin's desire to find greater answers than in the immediate moment. Additionally, Renarin is sitting weakly during the discussion, and Dalinar thinks he's having an episode. After the conversation, Dalinar sends Renarin to receive damage reports from the highstorm, and Renarin leaves the room energized and purposefully, seemingly recovered from his fit. Could he have been using stormlight around this time to recover from his fit quickly?

Could he have been using stormlight around this time to recover from his fit quickly? Maybe unconsciously. Kaladin survives a bit too much during his flashbacks and time as a slave. Renarin could easily have been doing the same. There is even some circumstantial evidence for Elhokar.
Person Posted September 9, 2020 Posted September 9, 2020 Kaladin was using Stormlight unconsciously a lot during TWoK, so I think that it is safe to assume that Renarin was also doing so. 1
