I think the consensus is that Sadeus didn't betray them and it was a frame up then having Sadeus' uniforms. It's certainly an interesting coincidence that Sadeus would say that he didn't even think a rock slide could kill Dalinar and then someone tries with a rock slide though. I don't believe there is a direct WoB in this, but I'm sure if there is someone will post it up!

I personally think that was just foreshadowing on Brandon's part.  Kind of winking at the fans.  However I think it pretty conclusive that Sadeas was not involved in the rift except for actions he took overtly.

No, good question. He legitimately thought that Gavilar was a good king and so he legitimately wanted him to live. Sadeas had...his disagreements with Dalinar, he was way more ruthless, and things like this. But at the end of the day he really did want the kingdom to succeed and he did not want to be king.
