Yes they are. Vasher = Zahel and Azure = Vivenna.

My first readthrough of the the books i caught Vasher instantly in WoR, Vivena took a bit longer into my second read of OB, I relized that her shard blade is like nightblood.

Not at first, though i am just now reading mistborn and havn't read edlantris.
