Mythed Posted July 8, 2019 Posted July 8, 2019 I don't know if this has been theorized before, but if you look at the steel alphabet symbols for iron, copper, etc., they always have the crescent, circle, and spikes. Would the crescent be for the feruchemical bands and spikes for the... well, hemallurgic spikes? The circle could then represent the metal that hasn't been shaped, and allomancers can just swallow (also, atium is described as a 'bead', and it's shown in Brandon Sanderson's store as a ball). 3

Brandon Sanderson Yes. Do remember that that writing system was developed by the Final Empire. They actually took the ancient Terris symbols and they made them more to their own aesthetic over time.
