I remember reading a line by Ruin about the morality of shards and saying that Preservation would keep the world in stasis so people wouldn’t get hurt. Unfortunately, I can’t find it in my copy of Hero of Ages. I don’t think I’m misremembering because I’ve seen other people make reference to it but to the best of my efforts I can’t find it.
