Use the Falchion Posted May 24, 2019 Posted May 24, 2019 So according to IGN (who cite BuzzFeed News) there's a Star Wars KOTOR movie in development. While I'd rather see KOTOR as a tv show given the length of the game or a revamp of the game given how loved it is, I'll take a movie too! It should also not that this IS NOT A GUARANTEE THAT THE MOVIES WILL HAPPEN. I might never get past the development stage. What are y'all's thoughts on all of this? https://www.ign.com/articles/2019/05/23/star-wars-movie-based-on-knights-of-the-old-republic-reportedly-in-the-works https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/kateaurthur/new-star-wars-movie-knights-of-the-old-republic
Jaywalk he/him Posted May 24, 2019 Posted May 24, 2019 I’d also prefer a TV show, but I think they could pull it off. I’m cautiously optimistic.
Wyndlerunner he/him Posted May 24, 2019 Posted May 24, 2019 This seems like a cool possibility, especially since I've never had the chance to play any of the KOTOR games. I vote for Dave Filoni for director, with George Lucas as creative consultant 1

Jaywalk he/him Posted May 24, 2019 Posted May 24, 2019 Just now, Wyndlerunner said: I take up a false identity and 3rd the Nomination He would seriously be awesome as director. He got some live-action practice with the Mandalorian already, and a movie would be a great way to flex his storytelling chops.

Definitely, aside from my love of TCW as a show, and as SW in general, I think he's got mad props as a storyteller

We’re seeing the other way around already, with them motion capturing Ray Park as Maul for the Siege of Mandalore in Clone Wars Season 7.
NottTheBrave he/him Posted May 25, 2019 Posted May 25, 2019 An Old Republic set of films probably has me the most excited out of everything they could do theatrically. But how will they do it? Start at the games startpoint? Earlier? There's so much lore and character there. There's a lot to adapt if they want to.
