Vargo Seldon he/him Posted May 6, 2019 Posted May 6, 2019 Algorath accompanied Mutig. He saw the slaughter. It wa horrible, but it was justice. He didn't blame the bear for his raw emotions, but he did think that the thing should control himself. The bear fled, and he heard a roar emanate from somewhere in the fens. He would deal with with this. As the cloaked figure called for justice, Algorath stepped forwards. In human form, he possessed a certain elegance and grace that no man could ever attain. He walked forwards with catlike movements, and stood, twin blazing swords in each hand. "Justice?" He asked, "No, I'll tell you what justice is. Yes, the census was foolish, but it doesn't help that you've begun taking people. The people deserve better than a creature made of shadow, a creature that won't hesitate to kill them without a moments notice." He pointed a sword at the thing, "So today, you die." He charged forwards, spinning the blades in his hands. No such grace or skill had ever come to him before. The cloaked thing was strong and fast, obviously strengthened by the shadows. In human form, his fighting had grace and precision. Every move was perfectly executed, with no room for flaw or doubt. In beast form his fighting was frenzied and intense. He slashed and hacked, backed by a seemingly endless well of power. In the course of the fight he shifted back and forth, whichever suited the fight at that moment. How he was human, twirling the blades to slash at the dark thing. Now he was a wolf on all fours to avoid a high blow. Now he was a hybrid slashing with claws and hacking with the blade. The creature he was fighting morphed as well. It had begun as a man, but was now as much––maybe more––shadow as man. He was backed by an ancient and endless supply of fighting knowledge, as well as an almost incorporeal form. Algorath cut through it's middle, but it merely parted and rejoined. He bit it's throat, but it only regrew a head. As the fight progressed, Algorath began to tire. Both of them were showing strain, the creature bleeding black smoke, and pools of it's essence on the ground. He shifted to wolf form and lept at it, bowling it over, he went to human form and tried to stab it through. It looked him in the eye, and Algorath hesitated. A moment's hesitation was all the thing needed. It threw him across the ground, blades skittering away. He rose like a black spirit, hovering over it's victims. Algorath's tired head looked up, noting the foulness of it. With defiance in his eye, he spat at it as it descended. A small boy who had been watching, had seen the true nature of the thing unveiled. As had most of the spectators. They new that the wolf-man spoke true, and now, he was going to die like a martyr. As one, they charged forwards. It would kill many of them, but superior numbers plus the already tired creature prevailed. It lay dead on the street, like a deflated sac of ink. It was formless. Evil. And it was dead. Quote Is that alright? I kind of took that and ran a little far with it.

He raised himself , and as the mob closed in, he dispersed throughout the clearing. Than shadowed figures stepped forward, drawing swords and moving through the crowed. They had killed one of his host's, not knowing just how many he had. His hosts moved with eye bluring, hacking down men, women and children alike. The crowd screamed and struggled, a man throwing himself between one host and his family. The most merely cut him down, stepped over and killed the family. When they where done, only they and Algorath lived. One knelt down next to Algorath, and he recognized the host as Karl. Karl spoke in a much older, much stronger voice than he had when they first met. "Now tell me, did I not have the right to kill them? They, After all killed one of my favorite hosts." With that, he stood, and all three host's left the scene, letting Algorath gaze at the scene, it was no fight, it had been a massacre. @Vargo Seldon

It was brutal, violent, and completely unnecessary. They'd restrained him during the fighting, and he was forced to watch, powerless, as innocent people were cut down. After it was done, he knelt on the ground. His tears hit the dirt, as his very soul was split in two. A host knelt next to him, and explained his actions in a patient, infuriating voice. He looked up, murder in his eyes, and a hand shot out to grab it by the throat. He began squeezing, and the thing began suffocating. Letting out every drop of his fury and pent-up rage, he beat it's head with his other hand. His claws raked the dark flesh, making slow bleeding wounds. The other two hosts were on him in an instant. He strangled one with one hand while taking the other two with a sword. It was surprisingly easy, considering how difficult the last fight had been. He turned from the other two and looked the host in the eye as it died. With a jolt, he recognized it as Karl, the boy from the alley. His fury faded at once, and he released the boy. It dropped to the ground, clutching it's throat and drawing shaky breaths. The other two let off, and Algorath took his chance to flee down an alley. He could no more have killed the boy now as he could've killed him before his ghastly transformation. The child was just as much victim as the people it mowed down, perhaps more, since he couldn't seek solace in death. That thing was evil. It had to be destroyed. Algorath needed his pack... @Chasmfiend#1

He had expected the impure to kill Karl, to try and take his hatred out on him, yet he seemingly melted when he saw Karl's face. Karl stood up, still gasping but ready to serve. The creature smiled, a new plan forming in his mind. "You have done well, my faithful host, for which you shall be blessed with a mission that could very well win us this kingdom." Karl knelt down when he was spoken to, an aspect he was growing tired of. "I will do what you so wish, my Lord." He said . "I think it is time we catch the kings attention," the creature said, "I wish for you to bring me his first born." Karl stiffened, and he thought he caught the briefest hint of confusion, "but my Lord, the first born is but a child, she is innocent." "Just as these children were innocent?" He said , indicating the dead that lay around them. "This is a tedious task I have given you, but I know you can do it. The question is, do YOU know you can do it?" Karl nodded, "it shall be done." The creature smiled, and with that, he took his two host's and left, leaving Karl with his task. Karl looked around, his head throbbed from the beating he got from the wolf man. He looked at the dead and whimpered, "why did you fight him..." He left the scene , heading into the city. He could contact his master with the symbol he had burned in his arm, it would inform him that Karl had something to report, drawing him from deep in himself, where it kept secure from light. As Karl walked he began wondering, he knew it would still be listening, making sure he didn't run. He spotted the sayer, the man who had tried keeping him and his former leader alive. His mind thought fast, than he decided. Drawing his knife, he walked forward, and spoke to him. "You know my master will get what he wants? He has already sent you running, in shame and defeat. Why not bow now? He'd show mercy and spare your life." As he spoke, he calmly ran the knife on his arm, leaving a faint outlining of one word: help! @Vargo Seldon @ZincAboutIt Spoiler @Sorana and @Turtle373, the axe man can be used as you two deem fit. If you would like I can have him go and hunt Mutig, or you can pump him off as you wish.
Turtle373 he/him Posted May 9, 2019 Posted May 9, 2019 As the woman fell asleep Chadwick made sure he had Amara's attention, picked up a stick that was partially on fire from the fire with his mouth, then charged the man, hoping the light from the fire would weaken his powers. His free hand went for Chadwicks neck, trying to force him off his arm. He staggered back, almost falling down the stairs. "Why you filthy mut!" He swore, his eyes full of rage. But the creature stayed quite, and that made the man tense. He began panicking, struggling desperately against the wolf that bore into his arm. @Sorana @Turtle373

Vargo Seldon he/him Posted May 10, 2019 Posted May 10, 2019 The door flew open with a crash. A dark figure stood there. In a surprisingly weak voice it said, "Halt." It stepped into the room, and it revealed itself to be Algorath. He didn't look good. He was reverting back to hybrid thing he had been before, and his face was obviously tear-streaked. But there was steel in his eyes. He shouted and leaped forwards, morphing into a complete wolf as he left the ground. He hit the man, clawing and biting. He shifted back to full human, and brought a blade down on the man's neck Quote You decide if it hits. @Chasmfiend#1 @Sorana @Turtle373
+Sorana she/her Posted May 10, 2019 Posted May 10, 2019 Amara rolled herself to the side and the club barely hit the ground next to her. With a scream the fell down a few steps, thenmanaged to catch herself in time to see the man get attacked by Chadwick and, was that Algorath? Hastily she looked for another weapon, nothing it was a staircase. Fire. She grabbed one of the torches and slowly approched the man. @Chasmfiend#1 @Vargo Seldon @Turtle373
Chasmfiend#1 Posted May 10, 2019 Posted May 10, 2019 The man sprang away from his two new attackers, and actually jumped to the ground below. He howled in pain, but stood still, and began running, planning on sounding the alarm. But then a large shadow came forward, and he almost yelled in delight, but when he saw what it was that made the shadow, he began backing away. Mutig had run into the Fens, originally to escape this surge of strength. It was a dangerous weapon, as he could hurt anything and anyone who came in his path. But when he headed for the tower, he let it loose, the drive for justice, the drive for blood. He had killed every person he came across, and now carried a female corps, and and her friend had tried stopping him. He entered the clearing, and saw the man. Then he heard a scream from the tower, and he rushed forwards. The man swung his weapon as hard as he could, but not nearly hard enough. It glanced off Mutigs blood stained fur, and he caught the man with an upward slash. As the man hit the tower wall, Mutig lunged forward, pinning him to the wall, and tore into him. The man screamed, but Mutig didn't stop, not until the man's body was unrecognizable. Mutig dropped the corps, and released a blood gurgling roar, and descended on the corps, dragging it to the other he had brought, then he began to prepare to dig in, to feast. @Sorana @Turtle373 @Vargo Seldon Spoiler Sorry if you guys had been planning something else, but it seemed like a good way to bring Mutig back, showing just why he keeps himself as calm as possible.
Turtle373 he/him Posted May 10, 2019 Posted May 10, 2019 (edited) Algorath and Mutig had thankfully killed the man. He had heard Amara mention a child, and spoke in his gruff and now partly cracked voice. "Bring him down, then climb on." @Sorana @Vargo Seldon @Turtle 373
Vargo Seldon he/him Posted May 10, 2019 Posted May 10, 2019 Algorath looked at Mutig warily. If he'd killed people, and had been seen doing it, then rumors would start to circulate. People would put two and two together and get seven. It might start to affect Mutig, turning him into a ravenous beast. He'd have to watch him.
