Thought studied the man. There was nothing about him that particularly struck something within her but... she could swear she knew his eyes. Her hand moved to her necklace. She didn’t speak.

Tom waited for a moment without saying anything.

"I believe you were expressing your discomfort at your lack of information?"

“Who are you and how do you know her? Better yet, who is she?”

Tom raised his eyebrow. "Weighty questions indeed. Ones I will explain. But come," he said, turning to Thought. "Tamika is still injured. We should attend to her care first."

Shelves lined the walls, filled with devices of all different kinds. There was a gun that had strange writing on the side; a box that looked a lot like the one Rorim had used back at the docks; a small box that seemed to float in midair; and keys. Lots and lots of keys, in various shapes, sizes, and colors.

Tom was spinning a small wheel filled with vials of colored liquid. At last he came to a stop and pulled out a red one. He handed it to Thought.

"Here," he said. "This should do the trick."

The liquid tasted slightly bitter, but had a sweet aftertaste. It filled Thought with a comfortable warmth, healing her injuries and bringing peace to her mind.

Tom watched with a carefully projected air of nonchalance. When it became clear that the potion was working, he turned away and flicked a switch on the wall.
A table with three chairs appeared in the middle of the room. He waved at it. "Shall we sit down?"
Sorry for the slight godmod to describe the potion effects...

Tom sat down in the last chair, facing the other two. He drummed his fingers on the table. "Where to begin, where to begin..." he muttered to himself. "Hmmm... Better start with the Tombstone Key." He looked up. "That's what started all this. The Tombstone Key."

Tom sighed. "I had a feeling it wouldn't. Anyways, the Tombstone Key. It's a device, shaped like a key. It had the power to 'lock' a soul, preventing it from dying. Or so it was said."
