When I started OB I was really willing to give him a chance and I was hoping that maybe, just maybe, he'd redeem himself and then... AGH! I hate him forever and always. I can't accept what he did to Elhokar and he's joined the Voidbringers. May he burn forever. He doesn't deserve redemption in any form.
Toaster Retribution he/him Posted January 9, 2019 Posted January 9, 2019 Moash is a wonderful person, who hates injustice and grandma-murdering, and racism, and bullying, and slavery, and poverty. He isnt afraid to work for a living, and will freely offer himself up for the hardest of jobs. He has a great work ethic and is a skilled fighter. He stands up for the weak, punishes the unjust, helps his friends, and is a great guy to have a beer with. Whats not to love? 1

If he was in charge, he would switch the dark eyes with the light eyes, and just perpetuate the same injustice 2. He is now specist. He thinks all humans no matter what are horrible, and that is why the parshendi should win the war. That his actions are not his fault, its because he is human 3. He works to distract himself from his self hatred. He then also uses the light eyes and then all of humanity to do so. 4. He stood up for the parshmen in an effort to validate the world view that all of humanity is bad, so any negative actions he has taken is not his fault, he is just being human. Now I say this all not to say hate Moash, he should die, etc etc. I am however saying till he comes to terms with his self hate that predated Elhokar, he will never have redemption. As Odium has taken his hate, I am not sure redemption is functionally possible.

I made my own partially as a joke, and partially to show that I think the hatred for him is a little extreme (no, I don’t like Moash, in case someone is wondering). Didn't realize your post was in jest. Personally my theory about Moash is all his decisions are made in the filter of his self hatred. In that I believe his actions are understandable, with the preface that that understanding does not excuse the actions. In my opinion he will only grow when he accepts responsibility for his actions, and at their core is himself. Till then, he justifies all his actions by deflecting to those outside himself.

He talked for quite a while about how he wished that he could join bridge four again, but then he went and joined with the voidbringers. If he wanted to make up with Kal, the least that he could have done would be not siding with his enemies and killing even more people for them. That plus his killing of Elhokar have made him one of my most hated characters.

Yeah, I hate him, but I have kind of exaggerated it for this, because it's fun to hate on Moash He's that character that you love to hate.
