Huh. I didn't expect Shards to organize this fast.

Never mind that, I misunderstood how this worked. It looks like a single Shard used their day action to charge Yolen while the rest likely invested in someone. The fact that a Shard made that choice is actually fascinating.

Whoever they are, they've clearly got the end game in mind.

Information I am privy to suggests Devotion or Odium made this investment. Making oneself unable to be blokced seems useful for a role with the most powerful ability to kill. I’m not a supporter of Yolen-making

Minor edit to correct a timing mistake. The writeup originally noted that the game would end at midnight, Thursday the 16th of January. This is incorrect, as Thursday is the 17th of January. Apologies for the mistake. You have roughly 7 and a half hours left to get your actions in!

Why Devotion though?

It is even odds between the two shards which would have invested in Yolen, but I know that it was one of those two. Odium seems more likely as their win condition likely involves them using their kill ability which would be easier to use if it isn’t able to be prevented.

@zebra If you look closer, it is not only Alvron that I have copied.

You have immediately become very suspicious.

For knowing who invested? I am sorry that makes you suspect me. As it has been said, we’re all eliminators in this game. I do not know why I am suspicious as you put it.

I really am not looking forward to Yolen being a planet. There are a lot of variables in this game, and Yolen is another that adds more unpredictability. I like having to think about the strategies of having multiple relevant planets. Once Yolen is created, you are either on Yolen, or you are not. That is basically it.

Well, Axolotl can't know this through PMs as the soonest PMs that can be made this game are N1 through Cultivation and Endowment.
The remaining ideas I have are they have a hidden role that tells them info on Shards, their faction has knowledge of most of the shards, or they world-hopped and are sharing info between factions on known Shards.

I disagree about Axolotl necessarily being suspicious because of this. They are someone to keep your eye on, but so are several other people so far.

Suspicious because you say you know something that you have no plausible reason to know.  You are probably lying.  Why?

I don't know.

And that's what's scary.  You are probably lying, but there is no reason for you to!  Or at least that I can see.  That means you are probably a very good player.  Which is scary.

EDIT: Ninja'd.

The planet thing actually makes more sense.  But not much more.

Before the tension on Silverlight reached a boil, the groups of worldhoppers unanimously decided to split apart once more, seeking power among the far reaches of the Cosmere. Off they went to squabble over the scraps of power the Shards had left behind so many years ago, seeking to take advantage of Autonomy's disappearance in the short term rather than working to working to fill the void her absence left. Makido followed one such group of departers. The Era was young yet, and there was still time for a cooperative resolution to be reached.

It would seem that the most likely Shards to Invest in Yolen would be Ambition or Ruin, (and possibly Autonomy if Investing goes before worldhopping and Aspects can't be created on Silverlight), as those Shards didn't have another Investment option they could take. Both Devotion and Odium have useful Investment roles they could give any faction members they may have, so it would seem Axolotl knows something specific about those two Shards,(e.g., Axolotl's faction possesses those Shards).

It’s called deduction, not lying. Not secrets. Just logic. Also, you are also a  good player and you are also not devotion or odium.

To remark on Dragonfly’s point, if my faction had possession of the two shards, why on Braize would I share that here?

Not the case. Sorry. There’s always another secret.

Here.

By the way, do you guys want to share planet lists like in the last shard game?

So you are saying you know how all the other Shards that can invest are invested?

No

Because that sounds like the only way you can know that.

You said you didn't figure it out through process of elimination, so what other way is there to deduce info like that?

To clarify what I said in regards to that, I said essentially that I don’t know how all the shards invested but due to the many rules in the game, there are other ways to deduce facts concerning roles and investiture.

So, I know that I did not say I didn’t use process of elimination. Can we get some more talking in, though? Tomorrow is the first day of the game and it would really be a shame to waste a chance to gather data for tomorrow’s lynch.

@Scarlet Octopus @Amethyst Scorpionwhat do you guys think about the worlds on tonight? Who would you rather us lynch tomorrow?

@Charcoal Hyena @Sage Kangaroo you guys have posted in the game. What about your perspectives?

The tracks lead through the woods, winding through massive oaks, and glowing mushrooms. Elsic followed them, and all the while thinking of the potential different situations he could get in. Almost none of them ended with him alive, or in good condition, but all of them were better then wandering the forest alone lack, potentially for years. As the day turned to dusk, he was able to see a faint light in the distance, in the direction of the tracks. “Don’t tell me they went to a waystop” he let out in an outburst, venting his frustration at his current situation. However, as he approached, he realized that the light was far too dim. In fact, as he watched it more closely, it was too dim. It didn’t flicker or change brightness at all. It was almost like a glow. Bioluminescence. Of course! It was obvious now that he thought about it. That was what the locals here used for transportation, so why not these illegals. Feeling much more bolstered now that he knew there weren’t any locals to deal with, he quietly approached the clearing that the light was coming from. From it he could hear voices, though he couldn’t understand the language. He got closer and closer trying to understand what they were saying. He approached the edge of the gap in the trees, and saw large lanterns, releasing a steady, if dim, glow. Inside were three figures, all in bulky armor, with visors over their faces, carrying large silver containers and spreading them around the perimeter. As they went about their task, Elsic watched. They went about stacking for 20 more minutes, continuing to talk in a language that Elsic didn’t understand. As the last container was placed, one of the figures turned and looked directly at him.

“ELSIC” A loud voice boomed, reverberating in the armor. Elsic stumbled, then fell into the clearing, and as the figures watched, he got back up again. “I’m glad to see you found our tracks. It has made things so much easier for us. Here I was having to kill a local, but here you come, the perfect opportunity.” “What… What do you mean?” Elsic asked, his voice quavering. In response the figure raised a pistol, Taldain in design, and fired it directly into Elsic’s chest. “Why…? They’ll come for you too” Elsic said as shades began to flood into the area, and he fell limply to the ground. “Silly Elsic,” the figure responded “The shades do not attack what the Cosmere does not consider alive.” With that final message, the figures moved through the shades, going to the containers, and using them to capture the shades. When they were finished with their  figures gathered in the center of the clearing, still ignoring the shades, and gave one final look at the body of the Orange University Professor, and Elsecalled away.

I think that a lot of info will be revealed by the kill(s).  If not secret roles or vessels, at least a faction name.

May I ask how kills will provide a faction name?

The only thing I would question here, is why wasnt Ruin on your list then? Ruin didn't blow up a shardworld.

When someone dies, what faction they belong to is revealed.

Hello people. I haven't been active whatsoever in thread, but know that I do exist, have been doing at least a small amount of things elsewhere, and am not important at all in any way.

But for the record, I think Toucan is generally telling the truth.

Also, I'm like 80% sure I know who Weasel is.

That is all.
