The shards coming together will not mean what we think it means

I think that the shards coming together will not mean the shards all reabsorbing the minds and intents into one being persay. But somehow that by “coming together” for lack of a better term. They can keep their individual minds, share intents to a small degree, and keep each other from being to sucked up into said intent where they loose their mind. A sort of Council of Shards, if you will.

"Council" implies far more cooperation than I would expect.  I was more expecting a shardic Battle Royale
