The kind of spren Nale has bonded

It occurred to me, if the Heralds are all insane, then would only "insane" spren bond with them? I mean corrupted spren, more than less.

My thoughts were that the spren was probably a pariah amongst its peers. Because these Humans have literally bonded with Honor, and so what spren should think it also has the right to bond with this Human touched by Honor?

Other than the issue of previously broken oaths, I don't see why a spren would have any issue with a Herald.

Their being insane just fits the part of being broken that makes it easy for them to bond in the first place, and each order of Radiants emulated their Herald to begin with. The Heralds are, kind of by definition, the exact type of person the spren is aiming for.

Agreed, and in particular Nale seems to have made the argument that he never actually betrayed anything since he continued the Order.

Besides, Humans tend to label anything they see as too polarized or extreme as "Insane" because we tend to value a balanced outlook.  But I dont think spren are going to agree with that measuring scheme, since they are all going to be a little more extreme in their own views by the very nature of their various races.
