The Young Pyromancer he/him Posted September 11, 2018 Posted September 11, 2018 I was browsing another thread and realized that by the time era 4 rolls around sazed will be pretty corrupted, and at the time he already struggles to balance his shards. Maybe he becomes the final villain, championing scadrial’s progress at the cost of the other planets and forcing the forming of an interplanetary coalition to defend the universe from the scadrians? Thoughts?
HulkSmash2413 Posted September 12, 2018 Posted September 12, 2018 (edited) Not too sure about this. the very essence of Sazed is that he is the perfect balance. He is Harmony. We see in era 2 that the only time he interferes with the Scadrians is to preserve the balance. If he were able to be corrupted like that I think that he would be leaning too far towards Ruin to be Harmony, Preservation would step in. Edited September 12, 2018 by HulkSmash2413 1
The Young Pyromancer he/him Posted September 12, 2018 Author Posted September 12, 2018 He would be Ruining to Preserve. He would have to Ruin something, and he chose to Ruin others besides his people. Besides, I think he might fall into discord by that point. Brandon has said that there is at least one other way those shards could've come together...

The Young Pyromancer he/him Posted September 12, 2018 Author Posted September 12, 2018 My interpretation was that he was compelled in both directions at once so if he acted with one to strongly, it would swing out of control, causing the other shard to escape.
Calderis he/him Posted September 12, 2018 Posted September 12, 2018 He experiences a near paralysis because both intents are pressing on him constantly. Almost any Hong that Harmony attempts will be opposed by one of the intents. He has to find the wiggle room in the middle between the two shards in order to act at all.

I will be known as the grammar nazi of the Shard soon, but this might be the funniest sentence I’ve read in a while. 2
Calderis he/him Posted September 12, 2018 Posted September 12, 2018 Any thing.... *facepalm* Storming Autocorrect.
The Young Pyromancer he/him Posted September 12, 2018 Author Posted September 12, 2018 I thought that ruining and preserving simultaneously works, based on his interactions with Wax and Preserving the northerners while dooming the southerners. What I imagined would be like that.
