Worldhopper From Yolen
So I was just thinking about Adonalsium, and how he must have been all powerful, and how the Spiritual Realm has really weird time laws. Then I started thinking about Hoid and how the books seem to show us that he is trying to put Adonalsium back together. Then I thought, "Hmmm, if Adonalsium is all powerful, can he transcend time?" Here's the crackpot theory. Let's say that Hoid(or another person) puts Adonalsium back together. Then Adonalsium transcends time and goes back to the beginning to create all life, gets shattered, gets put back together, etc. So Hoid basically constructs Adonalsium after itself and it's one of those predestination paradoxes from time travel. I know we haven't seen any abilities to go back in time, but this is just one of those random thoughts in my messed-up brain. (I hope you get a laugh!) goody153
So it would be similar to Isaac Asimov's The Last Question conclusion? Well it sounds good but afaik i read that Sanderson will not do timetravel on Cosmere. Edited September 6, 2018 by goody153
Calderis he/him
As @goody153 said, time travel is forward only. Quote Xluxaeternax Is the chronology through the whole cosmere fairly linear, or are there some Interstellar-relativity timey-wimey stuff at play? Brandon Sanderson Relativity is in play for sure, but I am not allowing time travel into the past in the cosmere. So while you might find places that move at slower/faster speeds, and while foreseeing future timelines is in play for sure, nobody will not be pulling serious time travel shenanigans. source
goody153
So timetravel forward is fine (if you think about it it won't create crazy scenario's as well) besides Marasi's metal(forgot what was that) already does it for Scadrians. It's also reasonable for space-travel(cosmere universe is still a dwarf galaxy after all)
Quantus he/him
Time Travel and the actual afterlife/Beyond are off the table for serious plot, so I doubt it would happen that way. I also dont think he'd put the cosmere into that sort of Wheel of Time repeating loop; consequences of everyone's choices and actions (especially on the long timeline scale of Hoid&co) seems to be a central theme, and I always felt the Wheel of Time model worked counter to that.
