KeyraDK Posted August 21, 2018 Posted August 21, 2018 Hi, I'm new. Writing a fantasy that among other things, involves a roguish wolf being handed the guardianship of the magical forests after he proves himself worthy despite his baser nature. I'm wondering when more wolves will be given the title of hero separate from the humans they hang around. 7
I Am Witless she/her Posted August 21, 2018 Posted August 21, 2018 (edited) Welcome, @KeyraDK, to the 17th Shard! Have an upvote! Which Sanderson books have you read? I totally agree. I mean, humans working in packs argue and hurt each other while wolves actually get stuff done! As TenSoon (from the original Mistborn trilogy) shows, canines are better adapted for speed and serious bodily injury than humans are. I'm guessing that you like wolves more than humans? Furamirionind They/Any/All Posted August 21, 2018 Posted August 21, 2018 (edited) Welcome to 17th Shard! Have an upvote! Are you hungry after your upvote? help yourself to a cookie! I completely agree about wolves. They are just trying to survive like every creature, yet we give them a bad rap about it. Similar to how "killer whales" (officially called Orca whales), are called "killer" even though people don't call each other "killer humans"... you humans are weird... Also, if you like role-playing/games you should check out the Alleyverse Edited August 21, 2018 by Furamirionind
Life&Death Posted August 21, 2018 Posted August 21, 2018 I sometimes feel the same way about snakes and spiders. They get a bad rap. Welcome and enjoy the shard @KeyraDK
Slimy_Slider Posted August 21, 2018 Posted August 21, 2018 Have you ever read Robin Hobb's Farseer Trilogy? I think you might enjoy some of it, if you want to see wolves in a positive light.
