+Child of Hodor
I think the religion of the Purelake referenced in WoK Ishikk interlude is related to Autonomy because it has certain similarities to Trelagism on Scadrial. Quote “Foreigners were so stupid. Of course Nu Ralik was their god, but you always pretended that he wasn't. Vun Makak — his younger, spiteful brother — had to be tricked into thinking you worshiped him, otherwise he’d get jealous. It was only safe to speak of these things in a holy grotto. ”— Ishikk on the Purelaker religion.[1] https://coppermind.net/wiki/Nu_Ralik Quote Trelagism was a dualist religion named after the god Trell. Trell's opposite was Nalt, and the two were believed to be brothers.[1] Trelagists believed that night was sacred and daylight was profane. During the night, Trelagists were able to see the Thousand Eyes of Trell (the stars) watching over them, but during the day, Nalt, jealous of the worship given to his brother, would shine his single eye (the sun) on the land, blocking Trelagists from seeing Trell's eyes. https://coppermind.net/wiki/Trelagism Both religions have jealous siblings that have to be avoided by followers when trying to worship their chosen god. The Trelagists have to worship Trell at night because the jealous brother is blocking the stars during the day. In the Purelake they can only worship in grottos, perhaps because they are underground and suffiiciently out of view of the stars/sun? I am thinking Autonomy's avatars don't always get along and compete for worshipers and attention. Edited August 6, 2018 by Child of Hodor
+Ark1002
Nice theory. One thing: we aren't totally sure it is autonomy on scadrial yet, that is just one of the most widely accepted theories. If it is true, maybe. It could be that humans from Taldain moved to Roshar, and became the inhabitants of the purelake. Or maybe it was ancient scadrains who were Trelagists.

The Purelake could be an offshoot religion from Taldain worldhoppers. This thread in the OB spoiler section gets into other possible Taldain influences on Roshar. RShara
Sorry, any relationship seems coincidental at best. Quote Paladin Brewer (paraphrased) Is there a link between Trell and Nalt from Mistborn and Nu Ralik and Van Makik from Stormlight? Brandon Sanderson (paraphrased) "No, there isn't, maybe just tenuously." He said something like that. He seemed confused that I asked that. source

+Ark1002
Well, there goes that theory. I still wonder what cultures could have been started by worldhopping. Say ancient scadrains moved to Sel, this would create an entire new culture! Liek how on Taldain there is a darkside/dayside culture forming. Over time they would become a new combination with the old beliefs, altered by the new worlds beliefs, and how nature works. I wonder if we could ask Brandon a question like that.
