ScavellTane Posted July 21, 2018 Posted July 21, 2018 (edited) I have no idea why the Bondsmiths were limited to just three. There has been no indication to its reason other than our implications that there are 3 Shards in the Rosharan system. Edited July 21, 2018 by ScavellTane
CrazyRioter she/her Posted July 21, 2018 Posted July 21, 2018 There are three non-Odium associated "godspren".

There has been no indication to its reason other than our insinuations that there are 3 Shards in the Rosharan system. I don't think those are connected. I don't think any of the Orders were bonded with spren of Odium. According to the Stormfather, we again have reference to three spren in himself, the Nightwatcher, and the Sibling, and I doubt any of those three are in any way connected to Odium.
ScavellTane Posted July 21, 2018 Posted July 21, 2018 (edited) The Stormfather indicates that there are 3 siblings that are god-spren. It does not preclude there being other siblings that are not god-spren. Concerning my assertions that The Unmade were formerly Dawnshards, is that they were formerly bonded to Bondsmiths and were used to somehow bind Odium to Roshar, which is what Bondsmiths do. That bonding of Odiums investiture created the Unmade. Quote “Are there others like me out there?” he finally asked. Not right now, and there can ever be only three. One for each of us. “Three?” Dalinar said. “Three spren who make Bondsmiths. You … and Cultivation are two?” Although this distinction troubles me. A furthering of my theory would be that the distinction is between Storm, Spren and Stone. That there are three distinct types of great-spren for the Bondsmiths. Which doesn't quite make sense within my theory of there being 16 Dawnshards, how would that be divided? Although Brandon has mentioned that one of the Dawnshards is different than all the others, I believe that pertains to the merging of B.A.M and Melishis bondmate. Edited July 21, 2018 by ScavellTane
