The sword was intimidating, but slow enough to see coming. Deras dodged to the side and swung his own summoned sword at the man's arm, which went through without resistance and greyed it out, making him drop the greatsword. Deras then stepped into the man's space, dropping his sword but willing it to remain and grabbed his neck and leg to slam him onto the ground, getting a few blows from the man's good arm in the process and cracking the stone underneath.

On the ground, Deras stepped on the man's shoulder on his good arm, breaking it, and giving the stone below it more cracks. Deras ran to help Devaan with the others, intending to ram one of them.

The three panthers fighting Devaan were skilled. One feinted left while another got a cut in on the ankle. Deras came charging forward but a form blurred and  a panther tackled Deras to the ground.

One of the panthers swung straight for Devaan's kneecap, he rolled away from the attack and clasped his hands together before spreading them out again, emitting a blast from his hands knocking the three to the ground. One of them got up however, and resumed the attack once more. A one-on-one fight was easier, Devaan let shardplate cover his clothes and leapt on the attacker.

"I told you I wouldn't let you mug me" He muttered at the man he was fighting, there was fear in the panther's eyes

Jonas jumped in fright as he realized that the grounds were being attacked. He picked up his axe and ran to Master Devaan.

"How can I help?" He then dodged an attack.

Mejin grabbed Pry and launched up a bendalloy bubble around them the moment she saw the figures start forward.

"Why is it that I always wind up in the middle of a fight here?" Mejin muttered.

"You know these people?" Pry asked.

"Nope," Mejin said. "But they're trouble and won't hesitate to kill you."

Pry leaned on her dueling cane. "So what are we going to do?"

"We? You aren't going to do anything. You are going to head directly out of here when I drop this," Mejin said, knowing Pry wouldn't listen to a word she said.

"Yeah, right," Pry said. "You, your friend, and a few half-proficient buddies are going to take them all down." She chuckled. "Have fun. I'm sure you'll succeed as outnumbered you are right now."

It was then that Mejin's bendalloy ran out. She quickly swallowed a new bead, but it was too late. Pry had gotten out of her range and was already fending off a panther.

Storms. Mejin thought. I sure hope I wasn't so insufferable at her age.

"Get to the gate and make sure no more a coming for us!" Devaan told Jonas. The panther worldhopper gang would send more than just eight people.

The remaining panther he was fighting made a small mistake, Devaan quickly hit the panther in the kneecap with the flat of the blade.

The panther tackled Deras to the ground, and this time, there'd be no tapping out. His sword had vanished when it left his hand since he didn't will it to stay and it was too late to re-summon it. The panther had his arm in a hold, and was trying to break it.

but unlike them, he didn't need un-broken arms.

Deras let the panther break his arm without so much as a sound, then when he let up, the opening provided by his broken arm, Deras spun with all his might and sent the man into the ground. The arm and the fracture started very slowly healing itself, with his good arm, Deras punched the man, though, it was blocked by his own arms. That didn't stop him from screaming in pain as Deras felt the bones crack and break from his punch. Deras summoned the sword again while the man was reeling and greyed his legs out. Both of them. He screamed in pain again.

He wanted to let them live, and this was the best way he knew how, by incapacitating them. Deras called to them panthers still standing. "YIELD." He yelled in his deep voice, which sounded like a small explosion. "Your life is not worth losing for this!" For the first time, Deras spoke in a complete sentence, it was not the time for efficiency and wanted his message to come across clearly.

The Thunderhawk awkwardly turned in the air, facing towards the mountain trail that led to the training grounds, and let loose with its heavy bolters. The sound of wet thuds and bursting shells echoed across the mountain. Something out of sight exploded, shaking the ground and sending human body parts flying over the edge in a massive fireball.

Something shiny rode the blast wave, soaring into the sky before abruptly twisting in the air and falling towards the training grounds. The Radiant slammed into the ground, a Shardblade forming in his hands, and he charged Devaan.

ohmigosh there's just straight up two different factions trying to attack Devaan

Deras saw a figure in ornate looking armor land and summon a sword of its own, distinct in appearance to Deras' own, but Deras had a feeling that the sword was of the same kind as his.

He wasn't well trained enough to jump in front of the figure, and block the sword, especially with his off-arm still regenerating. He had to get creative.

Deras positioned his own sword, flat face resting against his shoulder, then he charged to intercept the figure, leading the target. Once he was close enough, he'd leap forward, highly-enhanced legs giving him a burst forward much faster than just running, and hopefully ramming straight into the armored figure.

Nervously Jonas ran for the gate and opened it. He slipped through and saw several more Panthers. He yelped and shouted to Devaan that there were another 20 coming.

oof, also I'm gonna control the shardbearer, since you gave the ok

The leap was fast and unpredictable enough that it hit the armored figure dead on, breaking off chunks of his armor and knocking him back a small ways. Deras didn't let up, the man still getting up. The Lifeless swung his sword again, the man reacted in time, but moved too slowly, Deras' blade landed and blew off more pieces from the armor. The man, still on the ground was having trouble moving now, Deras kicked him back down which cracked the ground and started hacking at the man's sword arm, more and more pieces of the armor flew off, before he could grey the man's arm out which made the man scream.

Deras was about to work on his other arm when he felt another body slamming into him from the side. He was getting carried by the tackle, but braced himself against the new attacker and dug his bare feet into the ground, the land opened, but so did his feet, which sprayed blood as he stopped him and the opponent in their tracks. His feet were currently out of commission, but he still had his legs and one more hand. The attacker grabbed hold of his legs and prepared to break it, heaving. Deras couldn't do anything about that, so he let it happen, then when the bones of his leg no longer stopped him, he bent backward and grabbed at the attacker with his free arm. He managed to get the attacker's ankle and squeezed, breaking it much more quickly than they broke his leg, thankfully they weren't wearing any of that strange armor. The attacker screamed in pain, a female voice, before falling backward, Deras crawled to her other leg and crushed it to incapacitate her which made her scream even more.

The Lifeless tried to stand back upward, but found that having his leg bent all the way to his back and his other foot mangled by the ground made it hard to stand. He fished in his trousers for the syringes and found that there were only two left, he must have dropped the others in the commotion. He injected it into himself and begun crawling to a better spot, he could already feel the regeneration process accelerating, which healed his broken arm first, and allowed him to crawl at a brisk pace.

The Shardbearer started glowing.

He rolled to his feet and, a Shardblade forming in his healed arms, charged towards the prone Deras.

did say he was a Radiant. He also used lashings, in my last post.

Sorry if there was a misunderstanding.

it's alright, because I also forgot to mention that since there's so much chunks of the plate lost, it's lost power and got heavier, which is why he was so slow in my post, I still haven't read OB, so I'm not sure if shardplate also gets healed by stormlight

oh ok, I'll just assume he took off the shardplate before he charged Deras.

"Rgh" Deras growled, he would swear, but he didn't know of any curses right now. His healing was accelerated but not fast enough, though his mangled foot was mostly intact now, and his other, broken leg was in a place that he could reach it now. He grabbed hold of it and wrenched it back into place as best he could, then stood up. He could see that the man's arm had healed even after he greyed it out. It was likely the only way to truly incapacitate him was to rip the limbs off, that or kill him. Deras preferred to not do either.

He prepared to face the man, his own sword dropping back into his hand. The man drew close and swung his sword which made Deras try to block the overhead swing, only for the man to retract at the last minute and swing from the side, toward Deras' left shoulder. The Lifeless was too slow and the sword struck its target, passing through Deras' flesh and muscle like it was nothing and greying them.

Then it stopped.

The strange sword had caught on something inside Deras, and because of its impractical shape, was snagged. The man was surprised. Deras could still feel his left arm and used the opportunity to grab the man's right arm and right shoulder. He also stomped on his ankle, breaking that. "YIELD NOW." The Lifeless yelled in his face. "Will tear off arm if not." Deras concluded, voice still raised.

The shardblade snagged on Deras' bones, which were injected with a lot of aluminum

The thunder hawk took down another fourteen of the panthers before they got through the gate, Devaan leapt on the remaining six, summoning his spren as a shard blade and kneecapping each one individually. He was going for non-lethal, but he had to kill two of them when they got too close.

"I told you. I'm not giving you extortion money" Devaan spat at them, the remaining panthers sneered at him.

"You Terris rat. We'll be back with more" Most of the remaining panthers fled, either taking to the skies or running down the mountain.

"I guess I should tell you who those guys were: Devaan told his pupils.

"Before that." Deras said, he was still restraining the man, who seemed intent on fleeing when he saw his comrades running away. "What do with remaining ones?" Deras asked the groundsmaster then looked over to the other attackers, the ones whose limbs he'd broken, some fainted or tried to crawl away. "Prefer not to kill."

His own leg was fully healed now, and in its proper place.

"Incapacitate them" Devaan said, punching one in the back of the head, knocking him out.

Deras looked at the man he was restraining who looked back at him. If he tried to do what Devaan just did, it was likely he'd just break the man's neck. So he did the next best thing,

...lugging the man over at Devaan and having him perform the knock-out, which he did. The man dropped, unconscious, "Likely need healing to prevent death from shock," Deras mentioned, referring to the ones who had broken limbs. "Who were they?" he asked.
