I'm confused if voidbringers aka humans were the first voidbringers then why are the spren with them. Which means spren were also voidbringers. So why is odium helping the singers?  Confused

The spren are forming bonds with humans because the humans left Odium (their first god who they brought with them from the world they destroyed) and decided to serve Honor instead. I think the spren bond with whoever follows Honor and makes the oaths.

And There may be an explanation in the book that I missed but my guess is Odium is using the singers to destroy the humans out of vengeance for abondoning him or maybe also because as long as they live he’s trapped by the Oathpact. Not 100% sure on that and is probably one of the mysteries to solve in future books

@rparam This is actually a pretty complicated topic. We don't know for sure if Odium was the god of the first humans from Ashyn who came to Roshar. It could be that the humans came to Roshar, then, at a later point, Odium followed them. The Singers could've assumed that the humans came with Odium instead, and called them voidbringers. Naming the humans voidbringers probably happened as the humans became tired of simply having Shin Kak Nish and began to conquer the rest of Roshar (this event is called the First Desolation, but was before the cycle of Desolations as we know it now, with the Heralds having to go to Braize and all that). At some point, Honor and Cultivation abandoned the Singers for the humans, which caused them to go to Odium (it could be the other way, but I don't see why the Singers would've gone to Odium first). A large group of Singers were granted powers by Odium and became Cognitive Shadows; these were called the Fused. At some point in there, the Heralds and Honor made the Oathpact, binding the Fused to Braize until one of the Heralds broke under torture, starting the next Desplation. At some point in this cycle, the humans began to refer to the Singers/Fused/whatever else was on team Odium as the voidbringers.

My head cannons been. Humans came to roshar lived in the lands given to them. They out grew or wasn't happy n decided to take more which began a huge war between the dawnsingers and humans. The humans were winning so Odium offered the dawnsingers powers to turn the tides in their favor. Honor stepped in and created the heralds to counter this stopping the newly found fused. People seeing the powers of the heralds attributed the powers to spren. Since spren are cognitive creatures over time and enough belief the nahel spren came into existance copying what Honor did with the heralds. They chose to bond with humans because they gained more from the bond. I think it was in WoR it was said the singers were their broth where humans were their meat. So this was the start of surgebinders. The heralds saw what happened and the knights radiance was founded and oaths were put into place to control the powers of surgebindjng because without the checks the oaths have they had the power to destroy planets. When the heralds abandoned the oath pact and the KR breaking their oaths some spren feel the lesser bond and more honorable singers might be the better option. That's why venli was able to bond her spren.
