Aluminium is Investiture Resistant, yes, but the rules aren't exactly concrete. The Metallic Arts are weird anyway and things differ from place to place in the Cosmere. Off the top of my head, I'm going to say that it's to do with Feruchemy being an internally powered and closed system of magic. Because they aren't drawing power from anywhere or manifesting that power externally, just pushing their own qualities around time, things work a little differently from say, Allomancy or Surgebinding.

Because we've been told it's true.

So, we know that things can be Soulcast into aluminum. But can aluminum itself be Soulcast into something else?

Brandon Sanderson [PENDING REVIEW]

It resists all forms of Investiture trying to change it to things.

We know aluminum affects mental magic and emotional magic. Would it affect the hole in your soul that’s created by Hemalurgy? If you had an aluminum spike, would that make it easier, less easy, or no difference for Ruin to take control of you?

Brandon Sanderson

Aluminum resists Investiture generally, even when it’s not Invested itself.

(Brandon hems and haws a little so Ironeyes clarifies the question) Would an aluminum spike make it harder for a Soother to take control of you?

Brandon Sanderson

An aluminum spike would have no effect on a Soother’s ability. They wouldn’t see it there.

Did you make aluminum resistant to Allomancy so that you could do the tinfoil hats?

Brandon Sanderson

No, but once I did, I was like that’s a cool idea. I made aluminum resistant to it because I wanted something to be magically inert in the Cosmere. It was a happy accident.

The Metallic Arts seem to get around this somehow, I'm Feruchemy's case by not changing the metal isltself, but just storing the power (hemalurgy would do the same) but Allomancy... I have no clue how aluminum can destroy itself.

I think all of these effects are still only possible due to Scadrial's Focus being metal.
