Kikuo she/her
I just had a quick question, I'm sorry if this has been answered elsewhere. I figured out how to add a hidden Spoiler box into a post, but in some browsers I can't open them/see them even after clicking on the spoiler button. So, for instance, in Google Chrome they just don't seem to open at all, but in Internet Explorer they do open. Is this a problem for anyone else? Thank you!!!
nikomis he/him
We discussed this in a recent thread. http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/6632-17th-shard-are-you-sick/ However, it was marked as fixed. It's working for me in Chrome now, and it wasn't last week. Maybe it's something more specific in your case? I'll let the experts chime in, though.
Chaos he/him
Try clearing your browser cache. I had that problem when I got back to my main PC and that solved it instantly.
Kikuo she/her
Thank you, nikomis and Chaos, for helping me out! I tried to clear the cache to no avail. Maybe it is because I'm doing Incognito browsing? I tend to click back and forth a hundred times on this site so it's better not to save my history when I'm at work! But it DOES work in the Internet Explorer InPrivate browsing window. Sigh. I'll try at home tonight in the Incognito window and then we can narrow down if the problem is this computer or all computers.
Chaos he/him
Hmmm, did you fully clear your cache (like, saying remove from "beginning of time"?). Kerry has also told me that doing a hard refresh is not sufficient; you actually have to go into Tools. While we're at it, does the Rich Text Editor load for you? EDIT: I've checked and spoiler boxes work for me in Incognito windows. It is very strange, because in Incognito windows, your browser shouldn't be caching anything, so that shouldn't be an issue. Very strange. I'll have to think on it. Edited March 18, 2014 by Chaos
Joe ST he/him
I've also had some problems with javascript things. The mark-as-read function on the boards page (clicking the icons) keep reloading the page instead of doing the javascript version
Kikuo she/her
Hi again Chaos, I did the "beginning of time" cache and cookies and everything else, following this path: Menu>Tools>Clear Browsing Data ... Sigh. Frustration spren are zipping around my head. But in other good news - the spoiler boxes do work on my home computer in Incognito windows!
ccstat he/him
This started happening for me yesterday, and in my case it is definitely a browser issue. Using Chrome in Windows 8, everything was fine through Saturday night. Then I tried accessing the mobile site using an Android phone (running Chrome), and after that something broke in my viewing of the site with the computer. Spoiler tags won't open, and none of the post formatting options are available--it looks very "html-y" as someone else said. However, that is only the case in Chrome. IE works fine on that computer, and Safari displays fine using a different machine. I'll update here if I figure out what caused the problem, or if it goes away. Hopefully this helps identify the issue if it is a problem for others.

I use Chrome for everything and when I do that it works fine for me. Let me know if that does not work.
ccstat he/him
Yes, clearing the cache on Chrome (in Win 8) fixed both issues.
