Elandera she/her Posted May 6, 2018 Posted May 6, 2018 My coworker turned on a station that's doing a disaster movie marathon, which includes wonderful movies like San Andreas and 2012. I know they can be good in the "so terrible it's actually kind of entertaining" way, but are there any disaster movies you consider to be actually good?
Toaster Retribution he/him Posted May 6, 2018 Posted May 6, 2018 This made me realize that I haven’t seen any disaster movies, as far as I recall.
Ammanas Posted May 6, 2018 Posted May 6, 2018 There are two movies that come to mind that I liked, but I saw them so long ago that I don't know if I would still enjoy them. They are: The Day after Tomorrow and Armageddon.
Briar King Posted May 6, 2018 Posted May 6, 2018 I’d say Armageddon and Deep Impact are among the best of a very bad genre.
Modal Seoul he/him Posted May 7, 2018 Posted May 7, 2018 Here's a list of good disaster films: The Towering Inferno The Poseidon Adventure The Impossible Cloverfield (Kind of not a disaster film, but it's awesome) The High and the Mighty Twister and The Disaster Artist
Wolven he/him Posted May 8, 2018 Posted May 8, 2018 Absolutely. I think 'Deep Impact' is pretty good. Helps that it had a pretty star studded cast. 'The Day After Tomorrow' ain't bad. 'Twister' was pretty good. 'Dante's Peak' and 'Volcano' aren't terrible. Disaster movies actually scare me a lot more than horror movies because it's stuff that can actually happen. 1
