Naurock Posted April 8, 2018 Posted April 8, 2018 I've been listening to The Shardcast, S/O @WeiryWriter. But thinking about the Unmade, Odium, Dalinar's trip, and even Mistborn: Secret History. Is Dalinar a special case of a Bondsmith that he is Connected to both Honor and Odium? Was Odium able to influence, torment, and speak to all Bondsmiths like this? Is this only because Honor is dead now? The Nightwatcher (point contended here in Shardcast) seems to say Dalinar is both of Odium and Honor. When thinking about Kelsier in SH: Spoiler Kelsier used the Ire's bottle of Connection juice to hold Preservation despite proving he's a poor match for the Shard. Dalinar kinda seems like a blank slate here where he can bond a Splinter of Honor but earlier in his life he was very compatible with the Thrill and it drove him to feats that others while also under the influence of the Thrill couldn't match. Several differences here I can see: - Ruin and Preservation created Scadrial and humans/Skaa there - Humans on Roshar chose Honor BUT on Ashyn they had were under Odium While visiting the Thaylens Dalinar felt the Thrill despite the idea that Radiants should be immune to its abilities. Then later Odium just split the Stormfather away and isolate Dalinar and attempt to infuse him with the Thrill. These kinda seems like things Odium just shouldn't be able to do. Anybody have any thoughts? 1
