The origin

So I was reading the page for The origin of storms and noticed that it uses the words believe and thought.

I was thinkingthat there actually is no "Origin" and that the storm is actually just continuously moving around the planet

That idea I think has been posed in world, and that’s likely the opinion of scholars on Roshar, however the legend of wandersail puts a giant whirlpool on the other side of the planet surrounded by islands, so there’s an in world example of a possible physical origin. The fact remains that the other side of the planet is inaccessible by average sea travel because the storms are too dangerous. That doesn’t mean we won’t get someone going there in the future, there seems to be lots of potential to the idea of traveling great distances above the storms.

There probably is just the one continuous storm, but there would still have to be some kind of Origin. The highstorm is very powerful when it hits eastern Roshar and Alethkar, but it weakens as it travels westward, especially when it passes over mountains. By the time it hits Shinovar, it doesn’t even resemble a highstorm anymore. Before it circles around to Alethkar again, it has to be restored and recharged by something. So even if the origin isn’t the literal origin of highstorms, it could be the origin of the highstorm’s power.

There's also other things that reference the eastward Origin of the highstorms, like Cu....Cuchishe? the giant water spren seen by Axies during an interlude.  It is noted to be facing towards the Origin.
