Palindrome Posted March 18, 2018 Posted March 18, 2018 cadebengert Do you have any plans that you can tell us about for when the events of the rest of the Cosmere will become evident in Roshar? Brandon Sanderson Roshar is an important part of the cosmere. Really, the question should be "When will events on Roshar effect the rest of the Cosmere" as opposed to the other way around. source Just read this from a link from another thread. Very interesting. So, from what we know Stormlight is about the midway point of the history of the cosmere. We also know that humans have been on Roshar for more than 4500 years making me think that the cosmere is 5000 to 6000 years old during the SA, and will last 12000 years. What if the events in SA effect all future books including mistborn era 4? What is happening on Roshar right now could have effects for 6000 years across the cosmere.
RShara she/her Posted March 18, 2018 Posted March 18, 2018 Brandon's said it's about 6000 years from the Shattering of Adonalsium to the Prelude of WoK. So we're at about 12000 years (remember Roshar years are a little longer than "standard) after the Shattering with the events in the Stormlight Archive. Mistborn Era 2 happens sometime around book 6 of SA (probably during or a little after). Mistborn Era 3 will happen about 60-80 years after that. Mistborn Era 4 will probably be some centuries after Era 3, because there needs to be time to develop the tech for FTL. I'm sure it'll have some effect on Era 3, but Era 4 is where the grand cosmere crossover is going to take place. Here's a great timeline with major spoilers for all cosmere books https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1JJtJhHwpKdow01n2-bsT3scVvqJd6lZh4uvpNwcslv8/edit#gid=0 1

I feel I'm gonna need a weekend, lots of coffee and my copy of AU next to me to go through all those tabs.
RShara she/her Posted March 18, 2018 Posted March 18, 2018 Yeah it's amazing. It makes a few guesses when we don't know much, so it's not perfect, but it is really great.
Calderis he/him Posted March 19, 2018 Posted March 19, 2018 (edited) I'm sure Roshar will have an effect on Mistborn Era 4. Here's some interesting implications. Quote Questioner So when do we get to see a Radiant and a Mistborn go at it? Brandon Sanderson It's gonna be a while. source Quote Questioner Will there be a major part in the story for the Sleepless? Brandon Sanderson Yes, but much later on. Questioner What means later on? Brandon Sanderson Well, they have a major role in the science fiction Mistborn trilogy, but that's pretty far off. So they will be very important very much later on. source Make of them what you will. (I personally make a lot out of those.) Edited March 19, 2018 by Calderis 2
