Hello all,

I'm (obviously) new to the site, but given that I've spent the last several years obsessively following and theorizing about the Cosmere, this seemed like a good place to find myself. I've spent quite a bit of time reading, and now I'm finally jumping in to take part in the conversation.

I have (so far as I can track) read everything Cosmere-related that Sanderson has ever published, most of it at least twice.

I don't know what normally goes in these posts, so I figure I'll just list my top 5 Sanderson books so that you can immediately form an opinion of me and save us all a bit of time.

Oathbringer
Hero of Ages
Mistborn
Alloy of Law
Words of Radiance

Welcome to the shard!! What do you think of hemalurgy?

It's talked about in a few places that hemalurgy is the most promising of the metallic arts, particularly because it can grant *anything* (or at least, anything written into the soul). Obviously, we can expect to see it show up in other places throughout the Cosmere, likely with some major effects.

Without spoiling anything directly (particularly the end of Bands of Mourning & Secret History), Hemalurgy seems like exactly the kind of brutal-but-efficient tool that a certain Mistborn will need to pursue their goals. I can easily see it becoming a sticking point between that character and other major actors in the greater Cosmere.

Obviously it's a pretty evil art in design, but I think the opportunities (both narrative and mechanical) it presents are fascinating.

I agree 100%, in my opinion its the most powerful because of it versatility.
