GiveMeASpren(I'mCrazy) Posted January 24, 2018 Posted January 24, 2018 Does anyone else think that the Nazca lines look like giant chalkings (gulp), and might be what the title of the 2nd book is referring to? 9
Hoohoo2 Posted January 30, 2018 Posted January 30, 2018 o.o Yeah. They do look like giant chalklings... but aren't chalk. Also, what about 3d chalklings? they're something that my brother some friends and I have come up with in an rp that included the rithmatist's magic. essentially you draw your chalkling onto a 3d object, or carve chalk into a desired shape, including a glyph of rending because it really quite would need it in order to do much as 3d... anyway, just a strange idea we thought of. Also, how are chalklings controlled? we're told "glyphs" yet they obviously have some measure of intelligence, take for example the redhead's unicorns (sorry, I forgot her name), they take very few glyphs, but are better behaved than any other creatures.
Kaladin12 Posted January 30, 2018 Posted January 30, 2018 If they were giant chalklings, they would likely not be very strong. They aren't that complicated.
GiveMeASpren(I'mCrazy) Posted January 31, 2018 Author Posted January 31, 2018 I know. I'm just saying that it looks like a great real-world reference for the 2nd book, especially if they are going to South America.
Dissentinel Posted February 3, 2018 Posted February 3, 2018 Sorry, what is the title of the second book? I haven't heard of it yet.

ccstat he/him Posted March 9, 2018 Posted March 9, 2018 (edited) You probably saw this already, but Brandon had said giant chalklings are a possibility (source) Quote ccstat The Great Circle in Nebrask shows you can scale up defenses. Can you also scale up and draw a Godzilla-sized chalkling? Brandon Sanderson Uh, this is theoretically possible (laughter). Yeah, yeah. Theoretically possible. Edited March 9, 2018 by ccstat
Draginon he/him Posted April 1, 2018 Posted April 1, 2018 If the United States became a bunch of islands on this earth I could see the Nazca Lines being chalk, maybe dormant?, instead of stone/dirt
Darth Woodrack he/him Posted October 19, 2018 Posted October 19, 2018 Side thing, what if you drew a chalking on a piece of paper, preserved it, and than crunched up the paper. Would it kill the chalkling?
Embrisk he/him Posted October 21, 2018 Posted October 21, 2018 Hm. I don't think so, unless the chalk was damaged too much. I think it'd be cool to have tank chalklings.
+Ark1002 Posted October 29, 2018 Posted October 29, 2018 Statue of Liberty made of chalk vs. Chasmfiend. What happens? I think Statue of Liberchalk.
Embrisk he/him Posted October 31, 2018 Posted October 31, 2018 (edited) It stays still because it's a statue. ^^ And the statue of liberty is torn to pieces and destroyed. Edited October 31, 2018 by Servillius
