Lord Mistborn Bondbreaker he/him Posted December 27, 2017 Posted December 27, 2017 Ok, so I’m reading AOL again, and I noticed how the illustrator made Wayne carry a gun. Was this just a mistake, or is there some reason to it?
Yata he/him Posted December 27, 2017 Posted December 27, 2017 It was a mistake but mainly Wayne is Just carring the weapon for Wax, rather than for his own usage. This is the official answer but remember the covers are not strictly Canon and this is true for all' the books
Kingsdaughter613 she/her Posted December 27, 2017 Posted December 27, 2017 Kell is wearing a Mistcloak on the cover of SH, but he doesn’t wear one in the story. Wax has goggles on that cover, but never uses anything like that. The artists do their thing and Brandon does his.

I'm pretty sure Wax is wearing goggles when he is playing metallurgist with the aluminum bullets in AoL. But other than that, yes, covers are not canon.
Kingsdaughter613 she/her Posted December 27, 2017 Posted December 27, 2017 Possibly, but not as a decoration on a hat! I think it’s more that the artists don’t get to read the books before doing the covers, so they have to make educated guesses.
Farnsworth Posted December 27, 2017 Posted December 27, 2017 Hey, at least it’s better than the Wheel of Time covers! We got lucky with our illustrators.
recneps he/him Posted January 30, 2018 Posted January 30, 2018 Hey, hey, hey! Them WoT covers are good!
Branderson Posted October 22, 2019 Posted October 22, 2019 ya but they don't have much to do with the story
