Necessary Eagle she/her
I recently was linked to a Cosmeric bombshell dropped on Reddit: Quote I revised part four heavily, moving the scene where Kaladin runs into our "so very beautiful" friend from Elantris (and the subsequent dip into the Spiritual Realm) from happening in the market to happening in the Lighthouse. In case you, like me, haven't read Elantris recently enough to get what he was referring to, Oversleep helpfully summed it up in: Quote HOLD ON ARE YOU SAYING THIS GUY IS THE HOED THAT LED RAODEN TO THE POOL AND TO THE LIBRARY IN ELANTRIS?! Edit: I mean, I have figured out he's from Elantris or at least Arelon. But then I thought the Dor ripped apart the Hoed! So many questions here... -I thought the Dor ripped people apart, too -Does this go any way towards explaining the Ire? -Is Riino a Cognitive Shadow now? -My copy of Oathbringer is on a different continent, but I don't think it said anything about Riino's skin being silver. Kal wouldn't have mistaken him for a Shin if he was all weird and shiny, would he?

An Elantrian away from Elantris and the location dependant power of the Dor won't glow. Quote Questioner When Galladon appears in Way of Kingswhy is his skin not silvery? Brandon Sanderson When Galladon appears in The Way of Kings why is his skin not silvery. That's a RAFO but there is a good reason for it. Footnote: Brandon has previously answered this. It has to do with Galladon's distance from the Dor, his skin no longer glows for the same reason something fluorescent will cease glowing when removed from a black light. And I'm unfortunately having trouble finding the WoB that footnote refers to. As for how Riino survived... I have no idea.
Yata he/him
I am trouble to find a way for Riino to be' alive. Honestly I doubt he is the actually same character but hard to say. The only way I could see survive to all, requires him to regain lucidity as Soon as he arrive in the CR and he could manage to build a protection thanks to the AonDor. But this requires. Great timing and an AonDor's knowledge that we don't know how powerful he is
I am Hope
Have we ever gotten any info on what exactly goes on in the Cognitive Realm on Sel other than that its extremely dangerous because there is a lot of "mindless" Investiture around? We know Hoid has made a trip to Sel, presumably through the CR, so it must be possible to survive there. So, if that is indeed the Hoed from Elantris, he either got rescued or somehow figured out how to survive, I guess. I'm referencing this WoB: Quote SUFFICIENTLYADVANCED It says that it's dangerous to travel to Shadesmar on Sel. Why? BRANDON SANDERSON It has to do with the Dor and the lack of an entity controlling much of the power Odium left in his wake on Sel. PHANTINE Woah, that's interesting. I had no idea Odium left little bits of his power on Sel... I guess it kinda makes sense for evil monks to be powered by pure hate, though. BRANDON SANDERSON Odium did not leave his power behind, one should note. He left several other powers which are now, to a large extent, mindless... WINDRUNNER17 This is an awesome answer! If you wouldn't mind answering, does Roshar have a similar problem, with Honor being Splintered? Thanks! BRANDON SANDERSON No, Roshar does not have the same problem. There are some differences going on. (One reason being that the spren are far more extensive on Roshar, and provide something of a "release valve." The Seons and the Skaze on Sel are not numerous enough to fulfill a similar function. Though, of course, that's only one part of the puzzle. Raw power is dangerous. It's one reason everyone should be thankful Kelsier was around on Scadrial. Source
