Mutantspicy Posted December 19, 2017 Posted December 19, 2017 Just curious if it would be possible to make aluminum viles to stealth your allomantic solutions, or would the aluminum corrupt the metals within? any thoughts?
MacThorstenson he/him Posted December 19, 2017 Posted December 19, 2017 (edited) You could definitely use aluminum to make your metal vials. The allomatic properties of the metal wouldn't be corrupted, we see mistborn are able to ingest multiple types of metal and are able to burn each separately, that includes aluminum. Even if a little bit of the aluminum gets in, there shouldn't be a problem healthwise. Its not toxic to ingest in small quantities but unless your an aluminum gnat, or a mistborn, you couldn't burn it away. The really only hurdle that I can see would be the price, in scadrial aluminum is expensive. Edited December 19, 2017 by Ookla the Capricious
Kingsdaughter613 she/her Posted December 19, 2017 Posted December 19, 2017 By Era 3 this will probably be a thing, as they should have figured out how to make aluminum cheaply by then. 2

And its seems like they would have better engineering to create a sealable lid out of aluminum. It also seems like it would be more effective for mistborns in general and hopefully there will be more of those by then.
+Lewis Nethur He/Him Posted December 21, 2017 Posted December 21, 2017 Scadrians are, tech-wise, on track to potentially unlock the secrets to cheap aluminum in the next wax and wayne book. If you read carefully, they make references to aluminum becoming gradually much more common. It's likely the set already figured the basics of it out in my opinion.
