[OB] Sprenswords and Sprenplate

Hi everyone, I am hoping that I can get some help filling in this chart with either facts or educated guesses or wild speculative guesses.  Corrections are also welcome.

This post assumes that related but lesser spren become shardplate (e.g. Syl’s cousins, the wind spren, become Windrunner shardplate).  However, the comments about Jasnah and Dalinar have me wondering.

Note 1, does the following refer to Jasnah's potential shardplate?

Quote

A glow faded around [Jasnah], different from the smoke of her Stormlight. Like geometric shapes outlining her …

That makes it sound like Cryptics are her shardplate?  I am sure this is not right but would love other explanations.

Note 2, doe the following refer to Dalinar's shardplate?

Quote

Something flashed around [Dalinar’s] arm. Lines of light, a framework that covered his body.

Sanderson, Brandon. Oathbringer: Book Three of the Stormlight Archive (p. 1028). Tom Doherty Associates. Kindle Edition.

If so, are these lightspren? Is there some sort of non-evil stormlight spren? Is this the same light as:

Quote

He dipped his pen again. “Would you close the balcony doors again, gemheart?” he asked her. “The sunlight is distracting me from the other light.” “Other light?” He nodded absently.

Sanderson, Brandon. Oathbringer: Book Three of the Stormlight Archive (p. 1228). Tom Doherty Associates. Kindle Edition.

Channeling my inner Pattern, both truth and lies in response to this would be appreciated.

Logicspren for Jasnah?

I like it.  These appear as little stormclouds in the physical realm (which is amusing) but we know that Kaladin could not recognize windspren in Shadesmar so maybe logicspren appear differently there.  And geometry makes sense for logicspren.

I'd also add lifespren to the Edgedancers as an educated guess! :)

Excellent guess.  I am updating my chart.

Flamespren could work for lightspren, if only because they are attracted to fire, which gives of light (very tenuous, I know).

Makes sense but I assumed they would be aligned with Ashspren.

Did you see the post I linked?  There's Lifespren as the shardplate for Edgedancers and so forth.

Actually missed it the first time.   It is very helpful.  Thank you.

Moving into crazy theory time, the lesser Spren for Skybreakers are passionspren.

Quote

Passionspren fluttered around them like crystal flakes of snow.

Sanderson, Brandon. Oathbringer: Book Three of the Stormlight Archive (pp. 55-56). Tom Doherty Associates. Kindle Edition.

They show up three times in Oathbringer, and twice the context is romance.  The third time is more ambiguous when Dalinar contemplates killing Gavilar:

Quote

A throne … a throne and more. The woman Dalinar should have been able to claim. A love he’d been forced to abandon, for what reason? No, his fighting today was not done. This was not all! He started toward the group, his mind fuzzy, his insides feeling a deep ache. Passionspren—like tiny crystalline flakes—dropped around him.

As to why they are associated are with Skybreakers, I only have two references:

Quote

“I have failed,” Nin repeated. “And now, for the people, justice must be done. A very difficult justice, Szeth-son-Neturo. Even for my Skybreakers.” “We will endeavor to be as passionless and logical as you, aboshi.” Nin laughed. It didn’t seem to carry the mirth that it should have. “Me? No, Szeth-son-Neturo. I am hardly passionless. This is the problem.”  [italics mine]

Sanderson, Brandon. Oathbringer: Book Three of the Stormlight Archive (p. 987). Tom Doherty Associates. Kindle Edition.

And then on Szeth's 3rd Ideal

Quote

[Nin]: "You have said the Words?”

[Szeth]: “Not yet. I swear to follow the will of Dalinar Kholin. This is my oath.” At the Words, snow crystallized around him in the air, then fluttered down. He felt a surge of something. Approval? From the hidden spren who only rarely showed itself to him, even still.

“I believe that your Words have been accepted."
