Blackwarder Posted November 25, 2017 Posted November 25, 2017 Quote “The love of men is a frigid thing, a mountain stream only three steps from the ice. We are his. Oh Stormfather … we are his. It is but a thousand days, and the Everstorm comes.” Excerpt From The Way of Kings Brandon Sandersonhttps://itunes.apple.com/us/book/the-way-of-kings/id376229549?mt=11 This material may be protected by copyright. It is said that BS likes to tease the end of his epics at the start of his first book so I’ve been rereading the prologue for the Stormlighte Archives and after that I came upon this, I believe that this death rattle not only refer to the everstorm coming but also for Odium being the first god of men in the Roshar system. Am I completely of course on that? Warder 4
Blackwarder Posted November 25, 2017 Author Posted November 25, 2017 Another relevant death rattle, after OB this things just pop right up to you Quote “Victory! We stand atop the mount! We scatter them before us! Their homes become our dens, their lands are now our farms! And they shall burn, as we once did, in a place that is hollow and forlorn.” —Collected on Ishashan, 1172, 18 seconds pre-death. Subject was a lighteyed spinster of the eighth dahn.” Excerpt From The Way of Kings Brandon Sandersonhttps://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewBook?id=376229549 This material may be protected by copyright. A human invader talking about (IMHO) the first vicrtory over the original singers. Most interesting is the part about someone burning, could it be a reference to the fused being locked in damnation (probably Ashyn from whence the humans came from) Warder
RShara she/her Posted November 25, 2017 Posted November 25, 2017 Yep, and a few others, I think. We discussed some of them here:

Otherwise the perspective would be switching from human to listener halfway through (not impossible, but I think it's less likely).
RShara she/her Posted November 25, 2017 Posted November 25, 2017 As mentioned in the other thread, the Death Rattles are all of future events, so it wouldn't be of when humans first came to Roshar. 1
