Matroska he/him
Hi there. I've liked Fantasy settings my whole life, though I think Baldur's Gate was the first time I deep-dived into a traditional Fantasy setting. Since then I've played countless RPGs in such settings, but not read that many books. Other than the obvious two (LotR and ASoIaF), I've read Magician by Raymond E Feist, some Magic the Gathering novels, and a novel based in the German RPG setting The Dark Eye (aka Das Schwarze Auge). Though as you may know, all of those are connected to gaming in some way; Feist's stuff had some computer game spin-offs that he was actually involved in (Return to Krondor and Betrayal at Krondor), MtG is obvious, and The Dark Eye has quite a few games such as three Realms of Arkania games (at least) plus some of Daedalic Entertainment's recent point-and-click adventure stuff. Anyway, I've rambled enough. I'm a few chapters into The Way of Kings and loving it so far. I can't wait to get a fuller understanding of the setting, the characters, and the plot - and then discuss it all with you guys.
