Despite his reluctance to fight, Rock killed Amaram. This, by normal right of conquest, means he has fulfilled his brothers quest to be the first Horneater with Shards, as he has claim to 2 blades and the Plate.

Rock had stated before that the first Horneater to win Shards would become King of all the Clans. While I’m not sure if he can or will claim them; Rock may now be a King.

I love it! Numuhukumakiaki'aialunamor King & Nuatoma of all the Unkalaki in all of Roshar!

But, his friends call him Rock.

ps. I don't know if any of this accurate but it sure sounds cool.

Yes!  A thousand times yes!  I love this so much.

Ialai and the Sadeas heir may have a claim that Amaram effectively stole the Shards, but I like this so much more.  Since Sadeas just stole the Horneater possessions when challenged, it would be quite fitting.

Arguably, Ialai was negligent and responsible for the Shards being misused and they should be forfeit.

In addition, with a weak rule of law, possession is a significant factor.  The Sadeas army having gotten wrecked doesn't help.

Brandon can play it variously, but I love this.

Interesting, I hadn't made this connection. I'm pretty sure whoever kills the shardearer can claim the shards. He gave Oathbringer to Dalinar, and I wondered if he would give Heleran's blade and plate to Shallan. Maybe he will keep them and bring them home to his people. He may not want to be King though. Perhaps that's why he was sitting alone with his head in his hands.

Revision to my previous statement. I was quite tired when reading the ending and missed the section with Oatherbringer. Rock gifted Oathbringer to Dalinar as repayment for saving the bridgemen from Sadeas.

The other set is still his then. Long live the eventual King.
