Returned and color

Regular Awakening and the creation of lifeless both require color to fuel the process. Is there a role for color when someone Returns? It's been a while since I read Warbreaker and I can't remember if there are descriptions of color draining in association with a Return.

If I remember correctly the only mention of colours when we hear about Lightsong Returning was that he shimmered with colours.

Why does giving your Breath to another person not require color? Every other Command does.

I thought I answered this in the book. You use your own color.

The one gifting the breath to another uses their own color for the process. Endowment is the one providing breath. I think direct action by a Shard would be an exception to the rule.
