dgenio8
Not sure if right forum or if this had been better discussed elsewhere. I'm rereading Tor's reread of the WoK and WoR before Oathbringer, and on chapter 11 of WoK the epigraph says Quote “Three of sixteen ruled, but now the Broken One reigns.” The first part is a now obvious reference to the 16 shards of Adonalsium, and the 3 are Honor, Cultivation and Odium. My point is on the Broken One. While a common interpretation is that the Odium is reigning in Roshar, I think this means that Honor (the splintered shard) is the one running things there. Although this does not improve our knowledge in any way, I just wanted to know what you guys thinks.

In Alethkar especially, corruption and debauchery reign. They don't worship Honor, they worship war, wealth, and power at any cost.

They worship a dead god in name, but another god is actually influencing them. Makes you wonder if the Purelaker's are onto something with their religion? Sure it has differences, but as Jasnah and Shallan believe - all myths and stories are born from truths.

I think that "Broken One" could refer to either Honor or Odium given our current lack of evidence/information. Odium is clearly infuencing a lot of events on Roshar. He is ultimately limited in how much "reigning" he can do while he's imprisoned on Braize. However, there's clearly a lot of hateful/negative emotions on Roshar right now. On the flip side of that, Honor is influencing stuff too, although more indirectly via Tanavast's cognitive shadow, etc. So it ultimately depends on how you look at it until we have more evidence. (This is why I love Brandon's writing haha).
Killik he/him
Or perhaps this little tidbit is more of a foreshadow not explored yet. One interpretation could be..... Odium is trapped on Braize ergo he cannot reign. Honor is dead ergo he cannot reign. Therefor it must be Cultivation and we have yet to see how she is broken. Calderis he/him
I'll trust the Stormfather and his cry of "Odium Reigns" in tWoK.
