Toaster Retribution he/him
I'm thinking about the Ghostbloods (Mraize and Iyatil in particular). They are known worldhoppers, and so, is it possible that they know the secret to longer life? The thing that makes people like Galladon and Demoux able to live for hundreds of years. stonedshaman
I believe the act of world hoping has something to do with it. Kind of a space time continuum dealy Edited September 13, 2017 by stonedshaman
Khyrindor he/him
@stonedshaman General Cosmere spoilers (since this is in the Stormlight subforum): I personally doubt the act of moving to another world has anything to do with agelessness. When you Worldhop, you use a Perpendicularity (usually a Shardpool, but there are some exceptions) to slide your physical body into the Cognitive Realm. In the Cognitive Realm, the land is flat, with some warping going on. Since the land is affected by the thoughts of sentient species, the places where there are no people are a lot smaller. Because of this, outer space is vastly diminished, and able to be traversed at a walking speed to get to other planets. That's the basic rundown, but there are a few hacks some people may need to do depending on their Connection, whether they have a physical body, stuff like that. Since it's more of an art with nothing that magical about it, most Worldhoppers need to make use of a magic system to actually gain immortality. On the OP, we have no way of confirming whether or not Mraize and Iyatil are actually immortal. They've been to quite a few planets, and each trip would take months of travel, plus years of living to accomplish goals. Iyatil grew up in Silverlight (I believe this was confirmed?) but is of Southern Scadrian descent (hence the mask), and has been confirmed to be Mraize's babsk. Which means if we think Mraize is experienced, she must be more so. That said, depending on their rank in the Ghostbloods organization, and how competent and knowledgeable the organization is, I'd say it's likely that at least Iyatil and Mraize are functionally immortal. stonedshaman
All very good points. Here's my thing: I'm pretty sure I read somewhere about worldhopping attributing to hoids suspect agelessness. That being said I could be wrong as I like to partake in the good old firemoss
